Very Rare Vintage Collectors Item
The Flying Scotsman is a Brio engine that was released in 1997
This sleek, fast engine is called an "extra special engine" by his owner, and he was the second train on the Island of Sodor to travel 100 miles per hour!
The Flying Scotsman is polite and proud, even though he can be cocky about his superior speed and glory. Sometimes he teases his brother, Gordon, because of their sibling rivalry, but he still cares for him – and all his friends – very deeply.
Product Description
The product is unused in its original box and has its BRIO made in Sweden sticker.
Brio is a wooden toy company that once made Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends toys (compatible with Learning Curve's and others' Wooden Railway systems) from 1996-2000. BRIO received their license to sell Thomas the Tank Engine trains in the U.K. in 1996, though production did not begin until 1997 and product brochures weren’t printed until 1998. All Thomas products were marketed under the name “Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends”, save for Lady, Diesel 10, Dodge, and Splatter, which were marketed under “Thomas and the Magic Railroad” after the release of the movie of the same name in the year 2000. BRIO lost their license in 2001.

These trains are very old and rare, making it hard to find manufacturer's stock images. Picture 1 shows the actual box front that gives an idea of what the train looks like, pictures 2 and 3 are stock photos of the component parts, and the composite 4th image shows the actual product being offered from different angles so that you can see the packaging condition and what is included. All pictures can be enlarged for closer inspection. Call or email, if you have any questions.
